Bantay Halalan Laguna 2022 held a face-to-face thanksgiving celebration for its partners on June 6, 2022 in the College of Development Communication (CDC) lecture hall.
To recognize volunteers who went above and beyond what was expected of them, the Volunteer Affairs team, together with the heads of the News Desk Editors of the broadcast component and the Content Production Heads of the digital component identified volunteers who displayed exemplary acts of volunteerism during the election live coverage. Eight volunteers were identified, four from each component. These volunteers were also awarded certificates of appreciation and tokens.
The Volunteer Affairs team also planned for and assembled the contents of the Volunteer’s Kits that were given to the student volunteers during the Thanksgiving Celebration and Awarding Ceremony. Ideally, these should have been issued to the students prior to the live coverage, however due to lack of preparation time, they were just given post-election coverage, as a thank you and souvenir.
On the day of the celebration, the Volunteer Affairs team facilitated the program. Some members of the BH Laguna 2022 program as well as CDC staff volunteers also assisted in the conduct of the celebration.
The Thanksgiving Celebration and Awarding Ceremony marks the end of the tasks assigned to, and assumed by the Volunteer Affairs team for Bantay Halalan Laguna 2022. The activities of the Volunteer Affairs shall resume in the next run of Bantay Halalan Laguna (perhaps in 2025).
